Women & Activism Documentary

Bluebird Pictures has been funded by Barking and Dagenham council to produce a documentary celebrating 100 years since women gained the vote in Britain.

We will be exploring women and activism in the area, featuring the first black Miss Barking, the Made in Dagenham Ford women who fought for equal pay in the 60s and 80s, as well as the hospital cleaners strike in the 70s.

If you know any incredible women from Barking or Dagenham that should be featured in this documentary contact us on bluebird_pictures@yahoo.co.uk

We will be holding a screening in November alongside a photographic exhibition of all the women who took part.

We are proud to be supporting Woman’s Trust this year with all our Women in Film events. We have made all upcoming workshops and screenings free in the hope that you will decide to make a contribution to the charity that helps women recover from domestic abuse and rebuild their lives.
