It’s been a while since we’ve written a blog post full of exciting updates for Bluebird Pictures, so there’s a lot to catch up on. First of all, the World Cinema Film Festival supporting emerging filmmakers, ran from 2018 – 2023 before taking a 1 year hiatus to focus on developing our TV and film slates. That year has sadly turned into 3, making the WCFF’s return firmly on the back burner, for now. That’s not to say we won’t return with something similar in the future, as passing the ladder down to the next generation of talent is in our DNA. So, watch this space.
In 2024 we got to be a part of the brilliant Indie Labs, sponsored by Sony Television, as well as direct and be a part of some wonderful TV shows. This has created a very exciting 2026 for us, as we focus on our small (but mighty) slate of projects. Including a horror children’s TV show written by novelist S.B.Caves called Blunder Falls, a TV crime-thriller written by Joelle Mae David, co-produced by the BAFTA-winning producer Tobi Kyeremateng and her production outfit Them Ones, we are also partnering with them on a dark comedy TV show. Furthermore we are developing Joelle Mae David’s feature film directorial debut, with more to be announced soon.
